Join Us for a Quack-tastic Day at the Duck Derby and Vendor Fair!

Get ready for an unforgettable day of fun, community, and friendly competition at our Duck Derby and Vendor Fair!

Bring the whole family to watch hundreds of adorable rubber ducks race down Powell’s Creek for a chance to win fantastic prizes. Adopt a duck and cheer it on as it makes a splash for a good cause—all proceeds support our Adventure, Outdoor Education, and Horsemanship programs. With games, crafts, and family-friendly activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this can’t-miss event!

Duck Derby Details:
🕒 Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
📍 Location: Camp Hebron Campground
🐥 How It Works:

  1. Purchase a color-oriented Horsemanship, Adventure, or Outdoor Ed. duck. Traditional ducks cost $5 each. You may also purchase a Premium duck for $7 while supplies last. Premium ducks will be selected on May 17th.

  2. Ducks may be pre-purchased online or purchased the day of the event. You may purchase as many ducks as you would like. Purchase 10 ducks and get an eleventh duck for free. Each duck will be randomly assigned a number.

  3. The Duck Derby will take place at Camp Hebron’s campground. Festivities and registration will begin at 1:00 PM. Family-friendly activities will take place from 1:00-4:00.

  4. You do not need to be present to enter ducks into the Duck Derby or to win. Though, we would highly encourage active participation the day of the event.

  5. The Duck Drop will happen at 2:30 PM at the creek on the backside of the campground. Ducks will race downstream to the finish line.

  6. The Grand Prize will be 1 free week of youth overnight summer camp in 2025. Prizes will be awarded for the other top 10 ducks too!

📍 Location: Camp Hebron Sylvan View Field
🐥 Vendor Applications: We are accepting vendor applications. Vendors, please, fill out and submit either an online or PDF application.

Applications are due by May 2, 2025.

Duck Derby Rules*

  1. All ducks must be “sponsored” by individuals ages 18 and older. "Sponsors" are the only individuals allowed to purchase ducks. Individuals under the age of 18  may "adopt" ducks in the competition.

  2. Once the ducks are launched they are on their own, except that the race committee reserves the right to free them if caught on the banks or other channel impediments.

  3. Winners will be identified by the number marked on the ducks that cross the finish line first. Each numbered duck is randomly assigned to an entry in the race. 

  4. Decisions of the judges stationed at the finish line will be final. Camp Hebron employees and members of the Race Committee will not be eligible to win.

  5. The grand prize winner, if not present at the event, will be notified by telephone, email, or U.S. mail with redemption certificates enclosed. The winner will be instructed on method of claiming prize, but such claim is the sole responsibility of the prize winner. Grand prize winners should redeem prize for summer 2025. All door prize winners must be present and prized claimed the day of the event.

  6. It is not necessary for "sponsors" of winning ducks to attend the race or any race events.

  7. Names of winners will be published in the Camp Hebron newsletter and other publications.

  8. The Grand Prize will be one free week of overnight youth summer camp for 2025! 

  9. Any prize, other than the Grand Prize, may be transferred to a person or persons of the prize winner's choice. Grand prize may not be sold to another party. Any tax liability that might be incurred as a result of winning any prize is the responsibility of the prize winner.

  10. There will be no cash equivalent prizes in lieu of designated non-cash prizes.

  11. The race is being supervised by Camp Hebron staff and volunteers and is for the sole benefit of supporting Camp Hebron’s work.
