German Raw Apple Cake

Grab a bushel of apples and try this German Raw Apple Cake on for size. Retreat guests love this moist dessert!

Ingredients | Preheat oven to 350 Degrees

  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 2 cups raw diced apples
  • Topping - 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup chopped nuts, 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:

  • Mix Crisco and sugar
  • Blend in eggs
  • mix together flour, salt, cinnamon and baking soda in separate bowl
  • Add sour milk and apples
  • Put in a cake pan

Topping

  • 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Pour topping over cake mixture and bake for 1 hour.
